Understanding the results

What this information means

This page shows the network information received by the website. Use it to confirm that your route has changed and that your current exit matches the expected region.

ip.address

Public IP

This is the address shown publicly for the current request. If it changes after connecting to a route, your traffic exit has usually changed. Some networks share an exit address, so one address does not necessarily represent a single device.

geo.region

Country or region

The location comes from a GeoIP database’s recognition of the address range. Use it to check the region seen by Streaming, AI Tools, or websites. Database updates may lag, so city-level results should not be treated as precise location data.

network.isp

ISP

ISP identifies the network operator associated with the current address. A route exit may show a data center, backbone network, or local access provider rather than the broadband brand you use every day.

route.proxy

Proxy detection

This field only reports the detection signal returned by our endpoint. A detected proxy characteristic does not necessarily indicate a connection problem; no detection does not mean every website will reach the same conclusion, since services may use different address databases.

How to check for DNS leaks

This page does not fabricate a list of DNS resolvers or forward queries to a public testing site. Follow the steps below to review your client and system settings.

Confirm the exit has changed first

Connect to the required route, then return to this page and run the check again. First verify that the IP and country or region match expectations. If the exit has not changed, resolve the connection issue before checking DNS.

Review the client’s DNS settings

Open the client’s network or DNS settings and confirm that DNS requests are handled by the current connection. If you previously specified a DNS service manually, save the original settings, restore the client’s recommended automatic configuration, and reconnect.

Check system network adapters

Check the network adapter currently in use and see whether it is still fixed to the resolver address provided by the original network. After making changes, disconnect and establish the connection again so the old session does not continue using cached settings.

Troubleshoot discrepancies step by step

If the exit region is correct but DNS requests still clearly point to the original network, check the browser’s Secure DNS, system proxy, client split-routing rules, and router DNS in order. Change one setting at a time to identify the source.

The network check only displays information returned by the endpoint on this page. VPNKV does not record the result of this lookup or send the address to a third-party public lookup service if the endpoint fails.
